"Pressure Relief Valve"....it lives on the end of the fuel rail and will give similar symptoms when it blows... If you pop the drain-back line off it, start her up and and let her idle, if there's a silly amount of fuel coming out, she's probably done for.....or, you can remove it and see if it's still in one piece, if not she's done. However, some of them do look OK but can still be duff.

Just thinking out loud.

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated, the damn thing is really starting to piss me off!!

If there’s been any change after fitting the batteries, the relay and the switch it’s that the glow plug light comes on more often then it did...!

In 10 turns now there’s 7 times the light comes on whereas before it was only 2 times in the 10 turns if you get me

Update........ please read!

I had troubles with my van cutting out for a long time, it went on so long I sold the van!!

Turns out the new owner removed the towbar (which wasn’t fitted with a relay to supposedly protect the bcm...?) and hasn’t had a single cutting out incident since!

He’s had the bcm read by ford since removing it and it showed NO faults!!

Now, I can’t guarantee it was the towbar 100% because I’m no auto-electrician but it’s sure looking like that was the culprit!

My question is...

Are towbars the COMMON DENOMINATOR in all of the cutting out/ or seemingly related problems
