Hi there Looty Long time no speak.
A very close friend of mine put a blanking plate in his EGR and someone coded it out for him. Never threw any errors or had any problems with the test and as it was rear wheel drive it was pretty near impossible to see.

Possibly but the emissions I assume will be cleaner/lower in theory on a 2.0 transit engine over a 3.0l bmw engine? Maybe, maybe not.

Years ago I approached the DVLA about swapping my then wheels a fiesta with a 1.4 tddi diesel for a newer low emissions fiesta diesel engine , hence low emissions , lower tax band , they said No , its still taxed as the original vehicle , so , if you put a Dodge viper 10ltr engine in a Transit 2.0 donor vehicle will it still be taxed as a 2.0 Transit ?

My little Fiesta 1.4 Diesel van was the same amount of money as my Transit, whereas the car version of the Fiesta with the same engine was a lot cheaper.
The five cylinder 200ps LWB Transit was the same as my 4 cylinder 85ps SWB.
The one that really annoys me is that my 2012 Focus 1.6 Diesel has a £20 VED because of it's very low emissions, yet isn't ULEZ compliant, whereas my son's Ford Edge with it's bigger diesel engine, and much higher emissions (and fuel consumption) can travel free in the zone
