Engine management light turning on and off

Postby Hedgehog » Sun Jan 14, 2018 2:01 pm

I have a 2008 Duratorq tdci 2.4 100ps high top Transit, which I'm currently driving around Europe. I'm mainly taking the scenic route, but if I take the motorway and drive over 100km/h for a sustained period, the engine management light comes on. If I then drive on minor roads for a day or two, the light turns off again. Any ideas?

I took it to a national chain garage to have the fault codes read - they said their code reader can't read English fault codes...

Cheers

It could be one of many things, only option is plugging in & diagnosing with a compatible tool. You can get a £5 bluetooth dongle online & diag its fault codes yourself quite easily & safely, if you use an Android smartfone that it, if your an Iphone user the dongle may need to be wifi type like "IOBD2"
