Yea have read up on this apparently they haven't said it isn't definitely going to happen. I'm just having van issues and wanted to rune this out without replacing the egr or getting management light on.

New MOT changes are being made ready right now....

MOT special notice was issued to all MOT stations on the 10th Jan 2018 informing of the impending MOT changes from 20th May 2018.
Plus they already been provided with software update for emissions test equipment.

So yes definitely going to happen

As for problem with your van. Have you had DTC's (Error codes) read if Not you could end up spending a fortune replacing parts & still not resolve the fault.
Faulty EGR valve normally have the follow DTC's stored With Engine MIL on.

P0409 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor "A" Circuit stored
or
P0404 Exhaust Gas Recirculation "A" Control Circuit Range/Performance

Thanks for the info looks like blanking is out of the question then lol. The mechanics computer didn't find no faults and the ford guy cleared everything with the update when he learned the prv so not sure if there was a code or not. I'm going to remove the egr and clean anyway. But I'm suspecting now it has something to do with scv that he said didn't need replacing it ran fine for 100 miles after prv then all of a sudden nearly stalled again
