What have I got?

Postby martyn_jp » Tue Jan 23, 2018 5:51 pm

Just had to wave goodbye to my (what was left after the rust ate it most of the underneath) trusty Mk5 Smiley and have now found a new one I intend to buy. So, I was wondering if any of you clever helpful people might be able to shed some light (good or bad) on the van reg no BX11 GOE???

Cheers, Martyn.

You have a mk7 fwd 115 horse in rare white

You also have an outstanding recall regarding rear brake pipe securing bolts.

Cheers Punto443.....so as an owner yourself, what do you reckon on them....a pig or an angel....guess it must be an angel given the rare white colour

Pig or angel all depends on how the previous owner treated it and serviced it

Done 100k in mine, only had a broken injector clamp and a couple of chafed in that time.

Can’t complain really?

Well aside from a sh*t load of tyres, but can’t blame that on the van!

The 12 plate 143K miles 125 we have at work has been suitably abused, and keeps coming back for more. It does like a regular injector and pump calibration.

As above, for some reason, tyres and brake pads do seem a bit delicate .....
