rear window 9 (2).jpg
I did my back windows a couple of years back. Hardest part was drilling the first hole in the panel. The rest was easy.
I have loaded a few pics so you can see.
First pic drill holes along inside as in pic.
Then drill a larger hole to take a jig saw blade.
Then follow the inside of the strengthening line round with jigsaw.
rust proof/paint the cut edge.
Fit the rubber trim.
On the outside use the cleaner and primer, I think I used this on the window as well.
Use the mastic to go around outside of the the hole you have just cut ( there are pics on here to show you that just do a search)
use the suction cups if you have them to place window on the door and press firmly.
tape up with masking tape and leave for several hours..
I placed a small wedge under the bottom of the window to keep it even.

Hope this helps

A nice little write up there Steve,

Much the same as a lot I’ve seen, with the exception of using a larger holesaw on the corners, but depends on tools, above looks just as rffective :D

Hello,
First post so please don't bite. Off topic but relevant. I fitted glass to rear and sides of my transit a couple of years ago. I then informed insurance company (failure to notify of changes is often used to refuse a claim). The company wanted to triple my policy charge as they called it a modification. I eventually found a company (used to be called Norwich Union) who rightly accepted that rear and side glass is an option available on purchase and the cost was very close to my old policy.

I know, the day after I first put them on I was at the sink. Looked at the van and thought some f*****s in my van. My heart jumped and then I realised they were the headrest covers. LOL. I am going to get some alien ones next!
