A trip to Elsenham (Bishop Stortford) this morning, a choice between removing the dpf myself & being without my van for a week while the dpf is couriered there & back with a bill for probably £160 inc courier & no warranty versus £312 to do a full diagnostic, remove, clean, refit & clear codes while I wait & a year warranty was a no brainer for me. They said it's one of the worst blockages they'd done, strangely it never seemed down on power & didn't feel noticeably different on the drive home, but the fuel economy has improved so that's good.

Here's a link to the company I used, there's some videos of the machine on there.

Quick update for anyone interested, after around 400 miles the management light came back on, same codes, took the van back to DPF cleaned.co.uk & the checked everything, said the vapouriser was at fault, the fuse had also blown. Replaced the fuse but it had blown again by the time I got home. Ended up with new vapouriser & another forced regen. That was nearly a month ago & everything is fine now............so far.

I had good results with a foaming dpf cleaner in the missus’s qashqai,

Spray in the front probe sensor tube and idle for 15mins then forced regen. Done this twice in 9 months, before finding the root of the prob, which turned out to be a blocked sensor tube.

Been ok since.

bambi mk 1 wrote:I have got them cleaned with success but you need to find why its blocking .When they done the regen did much come out :?: Are you running it with low fuel in the tank or on short trips :?: Had a mk 8 in yesterday in limp mode and light on codes were dpf blocked but could not clear codes to do regen but tricked it by programming that a new dpf was fitted and hey presto cleared faults and done regen.Everything was in order only 32 klms left on fuel in tank  Waiting for phone call

 ive done that, tell the pcm its had a new one but after a bit they come back with the same fault .

i have treid cleaning them but with no sucsess,

wants they are blocked they are blocked

when i have took a euro 5 dpf apart it has loads of "lets say cotton wool " in between the honey combs and it impossable to clean it.

thats my opinnion anyway

been their and done it

and if it blocked then you also have back pressure and the turbo shaft snaps

Most transit dpf faults are caused by failed vaporisers

Replace vaporiser and fuse, static regen and it’s usually all good afterwards
