PCM swap

Postby Aidanb » Tue Feb 13, 2018 11:47 am

Looking to swap the pcm over on my 09 2.4 115, is it possible using forscan? Have searched and only ids is mentioned.
Also, when the new pcm is programmed to the van, can the old pcm be plugged back in and still work?

Reason for this, I have this spare pcm which is remapped but is for the 140 turbo, which I also have. I can't fit the turbo then drive it somewhere to be programmed as it will have no control, and doubt I can take it to get it programmed then drive back with the wrong turbo fitted!

Engine in performance from a 2.4 115ps to a 2.4 140ps by using PCM with 140ps calibration & turbo...

You'll also require injectors (6C1Q-9K546-BC for 140ps) & extra wiring for turbo.

Once replacement PCM has been programmed to van. Fuel pump & injector learns will also need to be done.
& old PCM will no longer work if plugged back in :!:

I looked into it slightly and from what I could work out it was only the turbo that was physically different on the engine as the new injectors I got for my 115 were listed for the 130 & 140 as well?
Mines also already got the vnt plug sitting just above alternator into a blank plug mount.

Wouldn't it run "enough" with the vnt turbo fitted to be able to take it somewhere to be reprogrammed as long as it's not uber far away?

Yes I believe so, its a vantuner remap which was done for what I have fitted, its a while ago now but I believe its the right injectors and the vnt wiring already there.

I was thinking more the other way round, old wastegate left fitted on the new pcm as it controls itself? Probably run in limp mode though?

Anyone close to Birmingham who can program the pcm? Given up on getting my ids to work!

2.4 115ps injectors are 6C1Q-9K546-AC (low flow)

Ford themselves list them as....

6C1Q-9K546-BC (High flow) fits
2.2 - 115ps, 130/140ps
2.4 - 130/140ps

6C1Q-9K546-AC (Low flow) fits
2.2 - 85ps & 110ps
2.4 - 100ps & 115ps

9C1Q-9K546-BA fits
2.4 - 135/140ps with DPF from 2008 onwards

They are listed incorrectly. Injectors they have listed for Transit Connects are also incorrect.

Imagine trying to swap Bosch (Euro 3) TDDI injectors for Siemens (Euro 4) TDCI injectors in a Transit Connect
https://www.pfjones.co.uk/ford-transit- ... 11611.html.

Another place for brand new genuine Denso injectors for 140ps engines
https://turbo-diesel.co.uk/product/dens ... 546BB-new/

Main thing to remember is both 140ps 2.2 & 2.4 engines use the same injectors

So your saying I've got 140 injectors in already?

Just need the vnt and pcm to get going? It sounds too easy..... ?

If you have & 2.4 engine with 6C1Q-9K546-BC (High flow) injectors fitted. Then yes...

Although those injectors are also fitted to 2.2 115ps, 130/140ps engines
