MK 6 NO POWER FROM BATTERYS AFTER A STARTER MOTOR CHANGE

Postby slowpete » Thu Feb 15, 2018 11:41 pm

Hi folks, I had a fault with my starter motor caused by bad fitting , when I turned the key off the starter carried on running, I fitted a new starter but have no power at all in the bus, if I jump start from under the bonnet all the lights come on and the new starter runs, but after taking the jumper leads off ,still no power from the internal battery's, help please, thanks.

The battery terminal lead has a built in fusible link, if blown, it’ll need replaced.

Think it’s built into the negative terminal?

It is part of the negative lead, the one under the drivers seat.

Try attaching a jump lead from the battery negative to a good earth, and see if you get power

Thanks guys , put an earth lead to a good earth and all was fine, it must be the inline fuse that needs changing.posting.php?mode=reply&f=5&t=185162#
