does anyone have a rough idea of how long a new flywheel should last .mileage or time since fitted

The one in my xr3i is 35years old and still fine :lol:

a dual mass flywheel on a diesel 2.4 ,manual and RWD ,it was fitted at 94500 and has cracked at 14100 dont seem to have lasted long

It probably cracked as it wasnt fitted using a projackomenter.

Really depends apon loads/ driving style and quality of the flywheel fitted?

My 61plate has done over 100k on the original clutch and flywheel, I drive enthusiastically and carry a decent load.

Multiple drivers can also cause more wear.
Although I reckon around 45k is quite low miles to have failed

What brand of flywheel is it.
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

We've just scraped a 10 plate 350, that has over 130k on the original flywheel, clutch and gearbox

Unfortunately the oil pump went and the engine seized
