Carbon monoxide in the cab?

Postby Spiders Web » Wed Feb 21, 2018 4:41 pm

Hi all I'm Spider a new forum member.

I currently drive daily a 2017 lwb transit van 2 side doors and 2 rear doors.
I've recently been taken down by possible carbon monoxide poisoning (potentially from the van) having experienced exhaust type fumes in the cab.
The van has been looked at and the only thing found was that the oil was filled above the mark.

Someone touched on the length of the exhaust pipe, but I would appreciate any additional, reasonable suggestions as to what might be a possible cause

Many thanks

If the van is running properly then I'd expect the monoxide content of the exhaust to be minimal.

If your concerned about the van exhaust then keep the heater fan turned on and don't use the recirculate option.
Get any properly trained and equipped gas fitter to check the exhaust with a monoxide detector.

What other sources of monoxide might you have been exposed to?
Cooker, heater, neighbors ? ( cooker or heater that is :-)

Cheers V8 Dave
We've already checked the house out with electronic detectors, but to no avail
When I get back to work I'm going to put the detectors in the van and we'll see what happens!

The source might from an adjacent home.

Wouldn't the OP be better off posting in the Mk8 section..? A 2017 model is a bit new for us old farts..
