Brake fluid ?

Can anyone tell me what brake fluid to put in my Mk 6 ? As said old girl has passed it’s first MOT in my hands I thought I’d give her a present and top up fluids etc, with the stuff I’ve already got ( plain Dot 4) when I get to it, on the reservoir it says to use “super dot 4”, what’s the difference ? I don’t mind buying some more, but I thought Super dot 4 was high boiling point, for racing/ performance cars ? I don’t want the old girl to bust a gusset if I have to go that fast !!

If the fluids low it probably just needs new brake pads

I used regular dot 4 in mine. I looked at the super dot 4 sec and couldn't really see why it called for it, and as it's more expensive and hard to find I went with standard cheap dot4.

Super dot 4 brings the pedal up higher for people with short legs
