Quick question.....

Hi, I am part-exing my 58 mk7 for a newer mk7 tomorrow, but the service light spanner and the engine management light have just come on. I'm 99% sure its the EGR valve (plus it needs a service). Is there anyway I can turn these light off before I take it in, as I don't want them using it as an excuse to wipe hundreds of the part ex value?

Turn on ignition,pos 2 (not running),hold brake and accelerator fully down and wait,spanner will start flashing or high spec dash will say service reset.
Release pedals,turn ignition off,wait at least 2 minutes before turning it back on..,
Won't remove engine management light,but will reset spanner / service due.

It sometimes takes more than one go at doing this. I turned mine off at least ten times and it only went off on the first go twice.

Had high spec clicks today and they said service now so I did the procedure and nothing happened but I turned the key off and back on and the message was gone
