You need it to be removed with Ford software called IDS. A Ford garage, good independent or some forum members would be able to do this for you.

That's useful to know. Last I heard you couldn't do it in Forscan yet as it couldn't write to the PCM

Not heard of speed limiters being hard wired in but if it was then IDS wouldn't be able to help. Most likely it's a software limit in the ECU so easy to get removed

You'll need the "Extended Licence Key" for Forscan and it can then do most module programing, still not as "complete" as IDS but for most of us mere mortals, it's fine.

62 mph does sound like a minibus speed limit, and so far as I know, if it is a minibus, they can't be removed by normal means (IDS etc)
Vantuner may be able to help

I think the econetic vans had the limiter built into the pcm map too.

If that's the case it should be "removable"..! Whereabouts are you..?? We might have a member close-ish who might be able to help..

As I understand it, some fleet vehicles have the restrictor included as part of the mapping.

OK, there's no-one really close, V8Dave is the closest up near St Albans, he knows his stuff though. As the other guys have mentioned, you may have the speed restriction "hard wired" into your PCM mapping, but there's no harm in "trying" to remove it, if it works, fine.... if not, I guess there's not a lot we can help you with.

Martyn, "Vantuner" may be able to help, he's an active member on here, a top bloke and very approachable, I believe he's in/near Uxbridge.
