No the light when I turn the key in ignition turns solid red and stays that way for about 40 seconds then starts to flash
sorry I took so long to answer

You have an imobilizer and or key problem as the red light should go out  You need to get the codes read

Yeah the ELM327 reader will allow you to read the codes as long as you use it with ForScan. If it is key issues then you can use ForScan to program a new key to the ignition too :D

All your starting issues could just be a duff ignition switch..!! A well known problem with some trannys.

Ah a TDCi....that means it's the "Son of Satan"...The Mk6 TDCi machines are well known to be "temperamental" at best...They're also well known for killing injectors and fuel pumps... :(

Might pay to get a new fuel filter, pop the old fuel filter off and cut if open to see if there's any metal swarf in there.

Our Ned will be along later to fill you in further..! He's in the UK so he's probably asleep as we speak..!

grogan197 the obd scan I have doesn't seem to be working. And I'm still waiting for a new one to turn up
Do you know if I have to have a computer to do the key program or can I do those sorts of things with my phone :?:
Thanks

Yeah it's only with a computer or windows tablet that you can do key programming, you also need to get a extended license from the forscan website, it's free to get though.

Mk6 Transits are not OBD-II compliant....so if you have an OBD-II reader, you're wasting your time.

If you have an ELM327 on it's way then your fine as it will work with forscan. There are lots of generic OBDII readers around though and these won't work with the mk6 transit

Yep...just follow Grogan's info/advice and you'll be fine...The "modified" ELM327 and Forscan will work with Mk6 & Mk7 Transits..

G'day all the ELM327 turned up but I had no joy with it. It won't connect my son tried it on his lap top still no good
Could it be because I haven't got the radio code ? At the moment trying to get that from ford
Think I will do a v6 conversion but a bitt worried that I will still have the same problem with the new motor
Don't know? . :(
