MK7 steering wheel bolt

Postby Hovervan » Fri Mar 16, 2018 6:08 pm

Hello there,

I think I've asked this before but cant find my own thread....so again:

what kind of bolt is used to hold a MK7 steering wheel in place? hex? torx? size? torque when refitting?

Will install a leather steering with cruise next week and must have all tools on hand

Can't remember size but a sharp clowt with a hammer then a big shifter on it's end has taken out the ones I've done rough but effective with limited tools on a scrappy visit
Reckon it's about 24 or 27mm

Did 1 last week 24/27
Steering lock and breaker bar gently lean on it worked for me.
Get a small screwdriver and bend it into a hook shape, that'll help with the airbag removal :-)

Just checked a spare one I happen to have in the garage.
I can confirm that that one IS 24mm
