Swap engine and gearbox

Postby theboytheboy » Fri Mar 16, 2018 7:45 pm

Hi all,

Can I swap the engine from 2004 transit with a 6 speed gearbox into a 2002 transit with a 5 speed gearbox? and if so is it a straight in and out swap?

The existing vehicle vin number is WF0AXXGBFA2P86977

The donor vehicle is vin number is WF0LXXTTFL4K63432

Is there any more info i can give to help?

thanks

a 2004 will be a tddi engine

the 6 speed box would be from a mrk 7

they never done a 6 speed box for the tddi transit, but they did for the later 2.4 tdci which was then called the dana axle :D

you also dont mention rwd or fwd :(

Your existing vehicle is.....

2004 Transit T350 2 door CHASSIS CAB, 2.4 TDDI 90ps with 5 speed box (MT75)

Donor vehicle is....

2004 Transit T350 Med Roof VAN, 2.4 TDCI 135ps with 6 speed box (MT82)

You'll require PCM, instrument cluster, main engine bay loom & dash loom to run the 2.4 TDCi engine.
Wiring looms from the donor VAN are not compatible for your existing chassis cab

Straight engine & gearbox swap ?... Unfortunately no.

Thanks everyone,

Assume that harvesting the PCM, instrument cluster, main engine bay loom & dash loom from donor vehicle and fitting will be prohibitively expensive if I was paying someone to do the job?
