Help! Problem fitting Hykee lock

Postby Handystevey » Wed Apr 18, 2018 6:20 pm

Hi All, I am at this moment trying to fit my new Hykee lock. Unfortunately I can't seem to get the spring loaded one in the old barrel to budge.. Any ideas?
TIA

Spray it down with some oil and keep working it , it’s not that hard

Thanks squirrel93, sprayed loads of Wd and left it for a while and it came out a treat. The link helped too Ned. The new barrel comes with an outer shield and I tried for ages, the barrel went in but I couldn't turn it all the way to lock it in place. After lots of swearing, I decided to try it without the shield-Hey Presto! Slid in like the proverbial, sweet. Will decide whether or not to have another go with the shield, but at least van is a little more secure for time being.

When I ordered mines they gave the shield/bezel for free it is quite unsightly on the door rather than just the lock

Mine came with the shield as well, was a bit tighter to get in but a couple of taps with the handle of a screwdriver and it was in
