Fuel Filter Housing question

Postby rotory » Sun Apr 22, 2018 10:20 am

Hi all,

I have read several posts concerning the fuel filter housing causing problems with cracks etc. Could someone tell me where the cracks are to be found. I don't have any problems with starting etc but I can move the filter around a little inside the locking collar and I cant see any cracks etc. No O ring in there as the filter is self sealing as far as I can see.

Would really help if you told us what vehicle you have.??.I'm guessing a Mk6 2.4 125...?? Each model can have a different filter head assy...

Cracks can be anywhere in the housing, usually you can't see them and they allow air in.

Thank you, I’ve given mine a serious staring at and a MK1 eyeballing but can’t see anything. The collar does seem to allow a bit of play on the filter can.
Shall have to keep an eye on it

Is it the correct filter? I believe there's a couple of different ones. N

Yes Ned, it’s a Ford supplied Di filter, first time I’ve used a Ford one in 12 years. I have used a few Europarts filters without problems.
