fuel filter service indicator, Mk6

done the test as per haynes manual on the service indicator valve, but cant see how it indicates the level / value, is it green or red?, took the pic after the test, or do you read it with engine still running?

Push it in to reset and check with engine running....it will indicate red if filter is partially blocked....We've found they're not very "reliable"....replacing the filter at regular intervals is usually the best solution. I change mine at each service or ~every 10,000km or ~6months.
