Coughing sound and feel at low acceleration

Coughing at low acceleration
hi all,
I have a late 2010 LWB Transit, 2.4 turbo diesel, 6 speed. 225,000 klm on it.
I am getting a coughing sound from down around the turbo area on light acceleration, I seem to notice it most around 2,000rpm there is a feel like a miss or hesitation as well, I notice it most in 2nd and 3rd gear, it does not do it all the time, it doesn't seem to do it if I put my foot down a bit harder, well I don't notice it, not sure if it does it in 6th gear out on the road or not, still getting good boost on hills and so on
Have been having a series of problems, I had a low boost code come up, was told it might be an EGR Valve, changed out the EGR valve, courtesy of Transit Spares UK, no difference, it turned out to be a split in the boost hose just under the inlet manifold, so that was fixed, codes cleared, it went well for a couple of hundred K’s, previous I had a new SCV and PRV fitted, computer learns done, now I have this coughing problem.
thanks, Oldtimer.
Transit Van. 2005. 135 / T430 RWD. 2.4 engine. 6 speed Manual. used as a Motor Home in Australia.
