Handbrake warning light

Postby Nobuo » Sat May 12, 2018 6:49 pm

Hey guys my 2006 transit tourneo minibus just failed the nct on have no handbrake light warning on the dash while handbrake is up. I’m reading on several forums that there actually is no handbrake light on mk 6 transits. Can anyone confirm that for me.
The light comes on when I start the van so the bulb is fine.
Thanks.

The panel van has no handbrake light so best to pop the cover off the handbrake and ram the testers head in. No wires then no switch and no light

May or may not be there :!: :?:

Read the full page here www.catcar.info / ford

The cover over the handbrake is easy to lift, check you van as it may be different to others.

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

Thanks for the replies. Yes i had a look at that diagram and i dont have any switch in that spot. i even went to buy a switch on ebay but when i checked again there was no where to put it or connect it. I'm going to give him a right ould bollicking when i bring it back in if it never had one in first place.
at least i have the rust done so he should be happy. booked onto the boat to france in two weeks so it has to pass this time...

He failed me again. Said I need to get a written statement from Ford Ireland to prove there is no handbrake light in this model....
Got instruction manual of my vehicle and there is definitely no light for a handbrake.

I’m pretty sure that the only MK6 with handbrake warning light and switch were those for the Australian market
