blanking off a pipe-help

Postby alloageorge » Sun May 20, 2018 10:33 am

in the distant past someone cut and crimped the one inch pipe which
feeds the egr. over time this has melted a hole in the inlet manifold
that it was touching.i've taken off the manifold and now want to
blank off the pipe properly.as i need to fit something over the end
of the pipe and "glue" it in position, what would be the best solution.
pipe will obviously be hot and under pressure.
thanks for any suggestions.

When I blanked my egr I cut the ends of the flexible pipe and bolted one to the egr with a blanking plate and same as the exhaust manifold

With the new mot rules the egr has to be in working order or it will fail

If the pipe is cut and blanked off and you can see it is then yes it’s a fail same as the cat has been cut and welded up
