Well he’s been drilled it but turns out I snapped a piece of the extractor tool in the head and he said to drill that out he needs some mega expensive drill bits as it’s tough as iron!
He’s got one helicoil in and he thinks it may hold but if it doesn’t he’ll have to get these drill bits and put 2 helicoils in as that’s what he usually fits but thinks 10-11 threads will just hold it in hopefully!
Gonna build it up now and see how it goes fingers crossed

Good luck dude
There's only the strength of 10 imploding death stars on it :D

That's the trouble with stretch bolts if they get reused or out snappi snappi sh*t sh*t :x
I made the door holding open for the custom out of one of those bolts

To drill a bolt and the heli coil guy should know this trick is use a mansonary drill and rework the end so it's like metal drill then add pressure and it rips through or a good magnet might plug the extractor out

Yeah plenty of pressure
It won't slip in to the soft ally head and make a big furkre up or out will it :P

Well built up took my time cleaning everything up and fitting new seals bolts etc, ran it up stationary and seemed spot on, took it up the rd and pulled fine.
Rechecked no leaks yet and I applied loctite on the injector bolts to stop them coming loose.
Seems to be idling smoother too so fingers crossed it’s sorted

How did it snap?

My clamp broke and ejected an injector through the air box once
But the bolt was fine

Could one not have hit the tip of the sheared not with an arc welding rod and got it to stick?

Hi mate it snapped by some overgrown ape just hanging on it that little bit too much
As per pic it has snapped just below the tapered groove so you couldn’t have gotten anything into it to tack onto really.
If I’d have not tried drilling it and using a tapered stud extractor myself he could have drilled right down and double helicoiled it, it’s just because I’d snapped a tip of the extractor in he said you can’t drill them out without using some high strength drill bits that cost silly money and even them are throw away drill bits by time you’ve got the broken piece out so for the sake of trying it today and me being able to get out working he did one helicoil and we think it’s nipped it hopefully!

Yes sorry mate I’ve reread that I thought u meant mig!!
Yeah suppose possibly you could have tried that but I don’t know anyone with any sort of welding gear, I should have just rung this guy in first place, 30 years he’s been mobile getting stuff like this out so knows his business shame he’s talking about retiring now and no one to pass his knowledge onto

update
bolts seem to be holding ok however slight oil around the 2 injectors at the gearbox end, its a strange one it doesnt look like its coming out the injector shafts but looks like it could be coming up the actual clamping bolt and underneath the clamp?
anyone ever had this as its the only seals i didnt replace, ive replaced the cam cover gasket, all injector cam cover seals but looks like theres little rubber gromits or seals where the injector bolt goes?

I hadn't noticed a seal around the bolt when I did mine a year ago, I'll have to look again when I fit the new modified clamps and bolts :?

yeah its just a little rubber seal that the injector bolt goes though the rocker cover pal, abit like all the little bolts that hold the cover down too that have a rubber seal on.
