Mk6 to mk7 steering wheel change

Postby essexchris » Fri May 25, 2018 7:59 pm

I have my mk7 steering wheel ready to do the change over the weekend, I don’t have a problem with the cutting it up etc but the wires scare the hell out of me. I read some where about brown wires but I don’t have brown wires. Can anyone elxplain how to make sure I connect it up properly. I’m alright with bricks but wires aren’t my thing

Are you sure you mean brown wires and not brown trousers?

The only wires you will worry about are the centre ones for the airbag, but the srs module is quite clever and as the vehicle is not moving you can't accidentally set it off, the other wires are just the horn so it'll either be correct or the horn will honk when you connect the wire.
