Smoke at low revs

Postby Drtcmm » Wed Jun 20, 2018 9:57 am

Hi all, so last year I blanked off the EGR valve on my 2010 trend. It did throw the management light up but it ran great. With the MOT coming up I though I better sort it out so I put a new EGR it. Now the van seems low on power just as you touch the throttle lags a little then after the first bit it's fine. Also when the engine under load at the bottom of the rev range I get black smoke but then it clears. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks

The light was reset after the new EGR was fitted. It was on due to the EGR being blanked off.

Is it possible that last year I had the fuel reteach done with the EGR blanked off. Would putting the EGR back into the system throw the fuelling off now?
