Mk7 Evc location

Postby lancy » Wed Jun 20, 2018 8:30 pm

Hi all have just bought a 2.4 jumbo 2008 and I have Evc fault and wondered where it is?
Also prv is leaking.
It had scu on pump 2k ago so can I get away with just changing the prv and will it still need a pum learn?

Thanks all!!

Mk7's don't have a vacuum control for the EGR, (Mk6's do)....they're electronic.

SCV, (suction control valve), lives on the pump.

If your PRV, (pressure relief valve), is faulty, it will probably be the SCV causing it....we usually replace them both at the same time...

Yes, it's best to do a full set of learns after fitting them...otherwise she'll not run well/right.

Yes...you'll also need to reset the PRV counters etc before doing the learns. Pump & Pilot & injector learns should be done if you want the engine to run as well as possible.

What was the fault code mate? I've seen reference to evr (not evc in this case) on cheaper code readers which usually indicates an electrical fault on the egr iirc.

You won't get a fault code for prv or scv unless a broken cable on the scv.

Bit confusing without the fault code though so that would help
