daft question

Postby SAH Sheds » Thu Jun 21, 2018 12:56 pm

Just bought my MK7 diesel yesterday and need to put some fuel in it.
So daft question....how does the fuel filler cap work?
It says on it Ford recommend BP and the key is a Ford key but it just seems to take the centre barrel out. Is the cap supposed to come off or is it one of those anti syphon things? :?:

Thanks for that but it looks like you are using the main ignition key.
The key for my filler is completely different. It is a black sort of flat rectangular shape while my ignition key is the same as the one in your photo.
When I turn it and pull it just seems to remove the centre barrel.
Not sure how to upload photos yet and the van is not with me today anyway. Had to sort tax and insurance out first.

Thats a normal cap and key. Sounds like your filler cap is knackered mate.
