will mk6 2.4tddi engine fit mk7 transit?

Postby riauba » Thu Jun 21, 2018 8:31 pm

Sadly mk7 transit engine started to knock badly at the bottom, so guessing it's time for an engine replacement. Van isn't in it's best shape, dents here and there, some rust.. Garage would probably suggest to scrap it, but recent brakes, bearings, clutch, propshaft, suggest me to keep it. So was thinking about tddi engine. As far as read tddi won't have hole on the head for camshaft sensor this isn't a big problem for me and I can use my old one as it's not head itself but the frame which holds camshaft. Is there anything else?

Basic engine is similar but the electrics and fuel system is completely different....it's a fairly major job to convert.

Depends on which ps engine you have...the piston crowns are different from one to another due to injector differences etc...too many variables. Some of them also have oil injection cooled pistons.
There's other chaps who know a lot more about it than myself...
