New MOT Emissions Test?

Postby yorick » Thu Jul 12, 2018 7:21 pm

Hi, I live in Lanzarote and have a UK registered camper van. It's on a 2005 Jumbo Transit XLWB. I drive it up to the UK every year for its MOT

Are the new emissions tests very strict ? Do they worry about the EGR Valve ?

The reason I ask is because a few years ago the EGR was playing up on mine and a mechanic friend set about fixing it. I can't remember the exact details, but I remember buying a new one, but he bypassed it I think. Not sure. Yesterday I fired the engine up and let it get up to temperature, but the pipe from/to the EGR did not get hot

Have I anything to worry about ? It's a long way to go, to fail, and would rather get it sorted before we go.
