Near Side Handrake

Postby jimbo07g41 » Sat Jul 14, 2018 8:48 pm

So I have a T350 mk7 2.2 fwd and it just failed the MOT on a non functioning handbrake on the near side. The actual lever on the caliper seems to be seized. Haynes seems to suggest that they cant be serviced and need to be replaced. I am guessing the inner hand brake bush corrodes. Anyone got them to free up or should I just replace?

I free’d mine off twice with release oil, but it always starts to stick again after a few months. Long term needs replaced or serviced

Simple enough to rebuild with a £10 seal kit, takes 2hrs max to remove, clean and rebuild and fit.

Or think tpuk are selling them new for around £65?
