Oil. Will 10W40 do?

Postby Nozza 75 » Thu Jul 19, 2018 9:26 pm

Evening. I know the Ford standard engine oil is 5W30 but I'm wondering if anyone has been using 10W40? My engine is a 2.4Tdci with 140,000 miles on it.

Cheers

I run 10w40 here in AUS during the summer, but use 5w30 in the winter, they can be a tad difficult to start when cold with the heavier oil in during the winter.

I've had a neb through the owners manual, it states "If you operate your vehicle in temperatures below -20°C, you must
not use SAE 10W-40 engine oil". so that's me sorted.
