Would help if you told us what vehicle you're talking about....or would you like us to guess out of the several hundred combinations available amounst the Mk6's and Mk7's..??

Dashboard cluster more likely has an intermitent contact ( solder joints or connectors )
Viper could be fuse , viper motor , viper switch on steering column .

Still not working right and today when a put my wiper on. All of a sudden the cluster started working mmmm!!!?? Must be column a think.

As amlav says, it's probably a poor solder or connection at the cluster.
