Need advice basically got a transit euro 5 2.2 6 speed and its acting strange. The clutch bite point is extremely sharp its not a smooth uptake its all or nothing if that makes sense.?
When pressing accelerator in lower gears when driving (higher the revs) it jolts when taking up drive.
when driving from 1st to second it jolts the van almost as if there is play / slop in drive some were....
gears are sometimes notchy
1st gear can kangaroo and the rev gauge bounces and only way to stop it is take foot of accelerator or put more power down. oh and if going over speed bumps slowly it also makes the revs bounce abit. its almost like the van is going faster then the clutch grabs and take drive.
any help would be amazing as i aint half having some bother recently.
engine runs sweet and revs freely so i cant imagen its anything todo with that.
If driving and you accelerate does the rev counter go up but speed doesn't increase or increase slowly, then your clutch is slipping, and by the way you've described the clutch pedal it sounds like definite clutch probs , is it FWD or RWD, what horsepower ?
I've only done 5sp euro4 on mk7s and they're actually ok to do but cant say for 6spd though On ma €4 130 i swaped DM for SM and not had any bother in over 150000mls in about 2yrs
Hi Surly there won't be much difference in them. How ever I did read somewhere that there isn't a smf kit for the 6speed so may have to settle for a dmf again. Did you do yours on a ramp? Or on floor?

Kangarooing, jolting through gears, etc, sounds like flywheel to me too.

No a mate never used a Haynes, I'm actually a bodyshop mechanic to trade but left the trade a long time ago......make sure you use LUK clutch parts, you get good prices on ebay or on-line at Euro car parts as you'll get at least 35% discount as long as you order online Decent tool kit with big breaker/master bar and a large torque wrench , big socket for hub nuts (think its 36mm) big jack, axle stands and somebody to help as it'll be heavy and luck
