MK7 Headlight Parts????

Postby bazzaice00 » Sat Jul 21, 2018 9:34 am

Hi Folks, new here and first post. Hope someone can help me or guide me in the right direction at least.

The driver side headlight has a square bit of aluminium (about an inch) in front of the bulb. This part broke off. Could this small part be replaced? (the part can be screwed off) or do I just need to buy a whole new headlight. Local scrap yards are trying to charge £60 for headlight and £40 for a cracked one. Ive no idea what the this part is called to search for it. Is it a reflector?

I searched a few different ways on the forum to make sure I was not posting the same thing already asked but could find nothing similar.

Although it's possible to get the headlamp apart, it can be quite difficult....they're bonded/stuck together not screwed or bolted. Some have fitted small LED lights inside them too. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, your probably betteroff replacing it.
