MK7 Temp sensors

Postby gjasmith » Sun Jul 22, 2018 1:12 pm

Hello,

I have a MK7 2.2 TDCi Euro5 2012 with DPF.

While using Forscan I noticed that EGT13 is reading 1000°c, is this a faulty sensor or is this simply not fitted to my van? There are 3 wires around DPF, red, green and blue, there are no DTCs so hopefully this sensor is not required on the vehicle.

Also, all the ambient/in/out air temps read 215°c. I have located what I believe to be the outside temp sensor plug behind the O/S foglight which has a blank fitted so I'm guessing these sensors are not fitted, BUT!, if so how does it know when to switch the heated windscreen on automatically when frosty?

Hope you guys can help.

Gordon.

I have same model and am getting the same readings of 1000C for egt13 and 215C for ambient air. ASsuming these are default values when sensors are not fitted.
