Normal noise? Leaking injectors? Related?

Postby prototype3 » Sun Aug 05, 2018 9:40 pm

Hi all,

13 plate MK7 Euro 5 125 2.2

Van drives fine, noisy when cold and less noisy when warmed up. Got a tapping noise on idle (see video) which disappears when revved, also noticed some misting around one pair of injectors (on the left in the photo, 1 and 4?). Can't actually tell if it's oil or fuel, doesn't really smell like either (untrained nose).

SO,

Should I be worried about the noise?

Should I be doing the injector seals?

Should I just turn up the radio and crack on with life?

I have the same problem, I did one pair, now the others are leaking, and I'm not getting round to getting it done

If you leave them, the carbon build up will make the injectors difficult to remove, (one of my original pair was very hard to get out) which could cause problems if an injector needs to be changed. It's one of those jobs that's not urgent, but it does need to be done
