2004 2.4RWD transit engine rebuild problems

Postby Mangle » Mon Aug 13, 2018 2:32 pm

Hi everyone

So a couple of months ago my recently purchased transit started rattling .... a lot!
So to prevent any further damage, without knowing the issue, it was parked up on the drive.
After some careful listening etc it was decided that the van had thrown a bearing. We took the engine out stripped it completely to find it had thrown the little bearing on pot 2.
Anyway all the bearings were replaced along with timing chain, piston rings etc
Timing has been professionally set and checked and the engine has been turned over by hand.
The engine is now back in the van and everything is connected but when turning the key we have all the relevant dash lights but when trying to start the engine there is nothing, no whiring for the fuel pump or cranking of the engine! The abs and parking lights show when trying to start and go out as you let go of the key.
The battery is fully charged and we have painfully checked all fuses and relays!
Does anyone have any idea what else could be stopping the engine at least turning over??
We have checked that there is power after the ignition so we have kinda ruled out the immobiliser.
I have read all relevant posts on here as usual but I have had to result in posting this time thanks in advance guys!!
