Cart turn led light

Postby thomz0r » Mon Aug 20, 2018 7:54 pm

Hi team

i've just changed my turn bulb with leds light and I have some trouble with "click' ( ligth works fine , but not clicking) .

after reading some various tricks , I discovered that it's possible to change the flasher relay by one that support led .. great .. but :
where is this relay in my 2009 transit ? it looks to be in the dash board , but i cant imagine unscrew all dash board to changer a relay .. there must be something smarter ..
any ideas?

thx

Aux fuse box is behind the glove box, not above it.

n/s = near side. (The side that's closest to the kerb. In the UK it's Left.)

Thinking about this.... do the lights flash as they should?
You say the "lights work fine" do you mean: 1. They turn on but don't flash?
Or
2. They flash like they should?

If im not mistaken....? there is no flasher relay in the mk7 the BCM controls the flashing not a relay that you can change.
The "click" is made just as a audible warning by a speaker inside the dashboard clocks/display (instrument panel).
It may be something in the system that the BCM doesn't see enough resistance or draw in the flasher circuit to then tell the instrument panel to give an audible "click" sound?

Try original bulbs in ONE side and see if it "clicks" one way and the other way it's silently.

Hi team,

Knobby1 : ok for the aux box behind the glove box , i know this one , but I dont see any flasher relay , and none is reported on the manual.

Airthies :
thanks for N/S , i did not opened this one , but airbag looks to be packed under the top lid .
let me explain :
1/ when i change 1 bulb light by 1 LED light , they flash fine ( lights works and flash) but "click sound" is very fast , exactly like when a bulb is burned . same with warning

2 / when i change ALL bulb light , by ALL led light , it still works ( its light up and flash correctly) , but dont have this audible click , and there is no turn indicator ( orange arrow ) on the dashboard .

3 / when i have ALL with LED , and i use warning fisrt , it "click" and indicator on dash board flash , but quicker than "normal"

my idea was to change this relay by one that can support led , but if there's no relay ...., i have 2 solutions :
- easy way : get rid off Led light , and stay with my good old bulb light
- add a resistor somewhere , i saw thoses resistor on internet , but need to find where add it properly ``

i hope i'm clear enough :)

I'd just put the original bulbs back in.
Led's arent that great in lights made for filament bulbs anyway.

You need to fit load resistors for indicator leds
