locker or slippery differaentials

Postby 4x4 tranny » Wed Feb 14, 2024 10:47 pm

Hi I have a 2003 350 transit motorhome, with 2.4 diesel and 5 speed 125ps goes great but dam useless on wet ground. have been os some off road situations gravel shingle what ever you guys call it which it handles it, ok buy using one brains how to handle the situation, But soft surfaces such as wet grass slushy mud , yep its stuck. if the grounds flat you can usually handle it gently but as soon as it's uneven and ant hill it breaks in to one wheel spin, so thinking of fitting a locker or slip diff.
When I I mention it over here, no haven't got one or fitted one, So thought if any one on here's been down the same road and been successful?
cheers

By "over here" you mean where exactly?

I'm currently actively trying to sort out lockers and LSD for mk7 and mk8 rear axles to go with my 4x4 conversions.

Eaton E-Locker is a full locker and one of the best options for this application Id reckon.
Or if an LSD is preferred is suggest a torsen gear LSD due to not needing any fancy oils or issues with friction plate types.
