Pull off the rocker cover, check the bolts holding the latice to the head-the thing that holds the cams down-if any are loose the heads feked. As others will say, head, latice and cams are machined together. Although I did get 40k out of a similar numbered lattice once.

so maybe its just worth me taking out that electrical part of fuel pump , getting it fixed and seeing if it starts up, do i have to remove fuel pump and is that difficult can anyone offer guidance ? thanks

I'd be doing as scas mentioned first....not much use having a working fuel pump on an engine with a broken rocker ladder....worth checking at least.
