I always thought the limiter was set at 98mph, if thats the case then you have been de-limited but unless you have a Sportvan or higher speed rated tyres fitted I wouldn't be doing that speed

The ford IDS software clearly says theres "no limit " when you go into the speed limit function on mk7's & no one i have spoke to in Ford admits to one, there is one of course & I got this screen whilst updating the ecu of a mk7 recently - thought i was onto something then went to clear it & ..... "no limit " :!:

Martyn, do you open yourself up to legal action if you de limit a van with tyres that have a 105mph limit on them? You know what people are like these days, never want to admit they're at fault.

I dont know for sure Mike but can think of many scenarios on vehicles where supply of certain goods or services, would subsequently allow laws to be broken or legal limits to be exceeded & i feel that with regard to aftermarket mods it would be the owners responsibility for construction & use & thats it.. we would have heard about by now if performance mod suppliers were responsible surely ?

Plus this question probably applies to a non UK situation , in places where 105 is legally attainable.. any German members online :?: :)

I'm just thinking about the ridiculous US style culture we have here now with regard to 'accidents'. I suppose if you make the customer aware in writing then you're covered.

Fitted 16" wheels, speedo reads 105 same as before power/gearing increase
