Any chance you could let me have the procedure for updating the PCM? I just know what will happen if I go back to the dealer without some "ammunition" !

plug in dealer kit & goto module programming & the tool will tell you if theres an update available.. there's no option , or possibility to force an update or restore a previous one & no info on what any new update addresses.

Have you written to customer care ? also i would seriously consider the inconvenience of travelling to another dealer.. You clearly have a fault & should go absolutely ape at someone till its sorted ... get the next service manager to drive with you till it happens...

Thanks for the advice. To be honest it's hard to demonstrate the faults as they are fairly minor. The dealer has had the van in and I know the engineer road tested it.
If there is not an update available for the PCM can the operator force the computer to re-install the existing software? Just on the off chance there was a fault with the previous update? If not there's no point in me going back to the dealer (I just booked it in again)

The odd thing is, I installed BLUEFIN and while it improved the performance, it made the "not smooth" part throttle acceleration much worse and I had to send it back.

You cant go back on these PCM updates unfortunatley or even reinstall the newest ...

Like any generic remap a blufin could cure it or make any symptom worse so dont read anything into that..

Have you tried millers ecomax additive ( ebay £9.00 ) that may help :?:

No not tried any additives, I'll give that a try. Thanks for all the advice.

I heard about disconnecting the EGR valve, various opinions on doing this. Some say there's no point and others that it's worth doing.
If it's easy to disconnect/bypass I'll give it a try.

Hi,

I had the same trouble with the MK6 125 TDCI and it turned out to be the Throttle Pedal box.

I took it off by the footwell and cleaned the connections and it was perfect!

It might be the same as the MK7 but who knows?

Thanks

Thread is nearly 6 years old, highly unlikely the OP is still around or active...

This was simply a faulty van in the wrong hands( probably!;)... ).all problems discussed are very well understood now, 5 years on..
