no the torx bits are tapered, you can get muck in head of bolt, you normally have to knock it in to get a nice tight fit so you dont round the bit and head :!:

have a look here ribe bits(polydrive) are different 2 torx.

Either way, they aren't torx bolts.

in mk6 transits :?
are they American torx heads :?:

nothing works that easy, bolt heads get rusted internal torx/allen bolts/ribe get pitted and/or rusted,
yeah your right shouldn't use tools to hit things, but a hammer is for hammering and impactsocket tools can take impact  its all about using the correct tools for the job like you say.

Well, on reading what you kind people offered in the way of help, I took a chance and ordered a Ribe 22 bit set which cost £22.00 on ebay and I am very pleased to say the M11 fits perfectly. The Double seat is now removed and the single fitted.
FYI. The large back bolt on the double seat was rusted and I think that if I had tried to use the T55 Torks key, the thing would have stripped the bolt head and then it would have been very difficult to remove.
Many thanks for your help every one, problem resolved.

Geoff

Hu Guys,

Very new to this forum, just bought my first transit which is a W Reg, SWB Semi-Hi top (is that a MK4?) and want to remove the passenger seat to give the cab a real good clean out as its full of builder sand, mouldy food and generally other crap.. Find this thread and did a search for the Ribe bits.. Found this kit from Machine Mart which has the M11 in so I think i'll be buying one very shortly..

Hopefully be of help to someone and save a few pennies on the way..
