Nope. Looked in my copy nothing. Got any contact details? I suppose it would make sense that the ecu would be reading the values and after all when you remap turbo charged car you can write out certain sensors to stop error codes + cope with the extra power.

Anyway let us know.

Just found this thread. A friend in Adelaide looked at my mk7 recently.
He has some credibility, he told me to use a blanking plate with a 10 mm hole in the centre.
Aparrantely this does not activate the mil light whilst still allowing correct operation of egr with reduced gas intake. It's a job to know what the solution is but some of the senior electronic engineers that design the software for ecu's would definitely know exactly what to do in an instant. I know orbital corporation here in Perth are specialists in induction technology. Would be interesting to know the bloke who sat down and designed this system. Guess it will take time and maybe in 10 years time we will have a solution. :)

That's not blanked with a 10mm hole. Just means there's enough exhaust gas flow still so exactly the same as having it fully operational, and the egr would just open more to compensate if the 10pm hole did somehow restrict the flow. some have been doing that on Mondeos for years not realising their error.

So what is the correct way to blank off the EGR on a VM transit with out having the engine light come on?
I currently have the engine light on and codes indicate the EGR valve so I am trying to work out
1. Remove it and clean it and re-install
2. Just replace it
3. Just slide the blanking plate in, but still need to stop the EGR error coming up

Thanks

If van tuners turned it off there's no need to remove the gears

However it will need blanking if its leaking

That'll still throw fault codes.

Yes, that's the only way to prevent codes and warning light, by having it deleted

What kind of tools needs for deleting it? Is there any instructions around for that or does it need some special tools?
