No, only Transits, but a variation of the MK7 2.4 is fitted to Land-Rover Defenders

for carrying weight RWD

for comfort FWD

I had a MK6 RWD SWB 330, that was a great van, snow was no probs, being RWD it wasnt as refined as a FWD but it was a brilliant drive

Now got a MK7 FWD and that is brilliant, low floor is better and the overall economy is better

yes, the tdci and tddi on mk6 are same engine but different fuel system

the mk7 engines are different to mk6's and only use the tdci common rail fuel system.

Is it?

It the Mondeo which has a Transit engine, not the other way round

yeah plus the engine is far powerfull enough for a transit and more robust than the 2.4, as it has less displacement smaller stroke, less stress.
jaguar use the same engine and also

TDCi 16v ZSD ("Puma") 2.0 L (1998 cc)
2.2 L (2198 cc)
2.4 L (2402 cc)
2.5 L
3.0 L ?–? I4 turbo intercooled 16-valve DI Ford Mondeo, Ford Transit, Jaguar X-TYPE, LDV, London Taxi TX1 & TXII, Citroen Jumper, Peugeot Boxer, Fiat Ducato

the 2.2 duratorque is a 2.0 engine with a 2.4 crank fitted.

mondeos that have the tdci engines cant be used really as the pistons are different to the tddi ones, if you know of any mk3 mondeos that are only couple of hundred then let me know please
and the fwd engines are only £600 rather than a grand for 2.4 rwd. which you cant get in mondoes, but can in ldv's.

i was looking at mk6's on autotrader recently and lots of the cheap FWD's had goosed diesel pumps, and they were only showing 120-140,000 miles........never seen a mk5 advertised for sale with a broken pump....my W reg is still plugging away at 150k without a hitch, but the rest of the van is falling apart around the motor....is it more of a problem on the newer engines?

thats because of cost, if the mk6 could be fixed for £50 like the 2.5di then they wouldnt be up for sale.
modern pumps are more fussy about good fuel.
my pump lasted 180k and is on a mates van now running fine.

i think pumps seem to have a life span of about 3 years or 120-180,000 miles, based on my own observations, the first pump on my first engine went at 3yrs 180,000 mls,had it reconned, then was knacked at 289,000,so had a new pump on the engine wich has just failed at 3years and 140,000mls,but pricey beasts, the last one was £1,050, that was supply fit with a new pipe from the fuel filter, this was from carwoods in smethwick.

The LDV Maxus, Citroen, Peugeot and Fiat don't use the Ford engine :?

They have a Fiat 3.0l intercooled JTD engine

In fact, LDV haven't used Ford engines since the Maxus was born and the last Convoys and Pilots ran off the production lines. They are all Fiat engines since then
