Problem with steering?

Postby Dave_R » Mon Jul 03, 2006 11:00 pm

Having just had a new power steering pump fitted, when I first go out to the van, start it, and go to pull away I am getting a jerking motion when I turn the steering wheel. After the van has ran for 2-3 mins this goes away.

It has started to do exactly what you say, the engine is shuddering and the power steering belt is squeeking! It is going into the garage tomorrow!

To be honest mate, I aint mechanically minded.
It just had the water and power steering pump replaced, so it could be a case of air int he system. The belt feels tight enough, but I'll get it checked tomorrow!

Just got the van back. It was the power steering belt and the belt tensioner was away as well!
