I have a 61 plate ford transit 9 seater minibus fwd 2.2 115ps with 342,000 miles on it main dealer serviced from new, only ever had wheel hubs disks and brakes on it, only ever let me down on a battery. everything else is original, the vehicle is still in VGC. ITS THE FORD OIL FORMULA F oil, GENUINE FILTERS THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE. not cheap transit spares.the oil and fuel pressure are still the same as recordings on a run in 20,000 mile engine, buy cheap shoes get bad feet, quality always wins, just shop round for genuine parts, ford don't make spares so do your home work guys.

Mine has been standing in storage...ok ok, a workshop for a good 6/7 years and just started using it again after a refit interior wise for a stealth camper for another epic trip, mine has 222344 exact as I'm sitting in it banging away at the keyboard, I use a 5W40 premium oil and it does not use a drop of oil or smoke, starts right away without a glitch, quality of oil is king along with good fuel, I occasionally mix in some 2 stroke as it works wonders and has been covered to death all over the net, I say occasionally as it does slightly sludge up the engine oil

if you use van for your job it probably never be to expensive to change dead engine or gearbox. Problem with these vans are corrosion. My Vauxhall movano year 2002 doesn't have any rust patch, however 2008 transit will need welding for next mot, both with 200k+ on clocks.
