I have 2 mk6's here at the moment. Both are T280S 2.0 TDDI 100ps, Engine Code ABFA with SVO Application/Label
2006 model GVW 2800kg, GTW 3500kg
My 2003 model GVW 2640kg, GTW 3500kg
Difference between the 2 models is :-
2006 has gearbox ratio of 4.23 with lower manufacturers emission limit of 0.96 & GVW 2800kg
My 2003 has gearbox ratio 4.54 with higher manufacturers emission limit of 1.32, GVW 2640kg
& a special edition pack (which I don't have a clue to what that is )

cjl wrote:Hi folks,
Looking at getting my first transit but need to do a bit of towing so just wanting to clarify something. I want to check whether the following scenario would be ok as I'm getting mixed information from different places. Ignoring things like FWD/RWD, take the following:
GVW = 2600kg
Kerb weight = 1600kg
GTW = 3500kg
MAM (trailor) 1500kg
If I loaded the van with 400kg of stuff (people, equipment etc) so that it was at 2000kg, would towing the 1500kg trailor be ok? Still below the 85% (1700kg), so I'm ok to do this right? Some have said I shouldn't tow more than 900kg with such a setup, but presumably this is only if the van is fully laden?
Thanks for your help.
