Power steering belt tensioning

Postby thefatman » Fri Jul 29, 2011 5:44 pm

One of the inlet pipes for my power steering had sprung a leak and leaked all the oil out. I've replaced that but now the power steering judders when turning the wheel and the engine is running slowly. Two quick questions

1. How do you bleed the power steering system and

2. Can the power steering pump belt be adjusted, if so how to do this?

Thanks guys

1 Just cycle the steering from lock to lock.

2 If the belts had oil on it then you need a new one.

auto adjuster but check it as the bearing part of it could have broken up and not tensioning the belt properly
